For thirty-five years, the West Lancaster Animal Hospital has lived up to and exceeded the standards of excellence established by the American Animal Hospital Association. Since 1933, AAHA has determined our standards to be excellent in delivering care and compassion to the pets. AAHA is the only organization that accredits animal hospitals throughout the U.S. and Canada. AAHA-accredited hospitals voluntarily choose to be evaluated on 900 standards. We welcome being held to these high standards and strive daily to exceed their requirements. Nationwide, there are only 3,000 veterinary hospitals that are AAHA Certified to the Practice of Excellence in veterinary care. This is less than one out of every ten animal hospitals in North America.
We are inspected on a regular basis by staff from AAHA. Nineteen areas are identified and evaluated. They range from how we accomplish direct patient care and surgery to how we maintain the building and grounds. It is our choice to take the time, effort, and expense to maintain the standards of excellence in our services for you. The State of Pennsylvania simply requires that we be neat and orderly, checking these minimal requirements only if someone complains. We hope our commitment to AAHA Standards of Excellence provides you with special comfort in entrusting your pet care to us.
